CHARACTERS Blood and Steel The Cor Chronicles #1

Ttacks and his skin changed color to a gray reminiscent of the grave He is a Dahken a race the Loszian necromancers fear reviled by the Western priests and thought extinct by both As a child strangers entered his life even if only briefly and drove home that there are those that would bend him to their wills Frightened and determined to protect those he loves Cor steals away from home He finds that the world is not. I had recently finished a replay of Dragon Age Origins and I went the ReaverBerserker class reading this right after blew me away The Dahken combine 2 of my most favorite classes in that gameIn DAO Reavers terrorize their enemies feast upon the souls of their slain opponents to heal their own flesh and can unleash a blood frenzy that makes them powerful as they come nearer to their own deaths And of course Berserkers well they go crazy and dominateWhen I first read about the Dahken this was the first thing I thought of and I freaking love itAs one reviewer said the beginning is a little slow so if you can get by that this is one hell of a book The action scenes are written in a way that you can visualize the anarchy these warriors cause They are the the worlds most dangerous people the Dahken are feared by all yet very little is known about themI enjoyed reading about the history of the World too the author came up with a interesting idea on how magic came to be and I loved itI can t wait to continue with Cor and company going to start book 2 right away

Very Good Sword Sorcery TaleParece has created a rich world of a mankind devolved from a technical civilization into a group of kingdoms struggling either towards conuest or towards freedom The humans worship gods there seem to be about seven or so who can take an active role in religion and the affairs of men All in all a very well imagined world dominated by both swords and sorcery I THINK THIS IS A VERY GOOD BOOK THE FIRST IN

This book should have been great i mean it contain the amount of bluntness and forthrightness in the hero handling of murder and killing I mean the hero parent died literally in front of him and he could do nothing about it this kind of event is what i starve for in most fantasies nowadays but the author has done the job poorly this sensless
